About Ms. C.

Welcome!  I'm very excited about the year ahead! (Probably more excited than the kids).  I'm most excited about the fact that I get to meet and learn so much about my new class.  Getting to know and watching my students grow throughout the year is one of my favorite parts of teaching. Over the next couple weeks, we will be participating in a variety of class community activities, but I would like to share a little bit about myself as well!

My name is Jennifer Cianfaglione.  I was born in Bergen County but spent the majority of my childhood in northwest NJ.   I went to college at Bloomsburg University and graduated in 2011.  I graduated with my Masters in 2013 from Wilkes University.   Before I came to Norwood, I taught 1st grade for 2 years in Morris County.  This is my 4th year in Norwood and my 4th year in 2nd grade.  I absolutely love 2nd grade (and Norwood!!)

In my spare time, I love to read, travel, exercise and cook (I come from a very large and loud Italian family!)   I have been bitten by the travel bug.  I've traveled to Canada, Norway, Italy and England. We have plans to visit St. Lucia, Switzerland and France next summer.  I got engaged in Italy last April and will get married in November.  Don't worry, I will have a much easier last name in November :)

Things I love:

Children's Books-  I don't think it matters what age you are!  I love reading books to the class and gain new favorite books each year!
Italian Food- You can't come from an Italian family and not fall in love with sauce and cheese!
Elephants- Our Star Student Elephant is named Squirt.  Elephants are my favorite animal and in Italy- a sign of good luck!
Technology-  My dad worked for HP computers when I was growing up, so I started learning to use technology very young.  I love using technology myself, but love it even more when I can bring it into my classroom for my students to use.  The possibilities are endless!
Reeses Peanut Butter Cups - Although I will never bring it into school due to allergies!
All things chocolate! - Chocolate with peanut butter is even better ;-)

I can't wait to meet and get to know everyone!  Feel free to leave a comment on this post with a piece of information about yourself!

Until next time,

Ms. C.
